TEHRAN -- A collection of over forty wax figures borrowed from the St. Petersburg Museum of Wax Figures are on show at Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center.
The collection includes wax figures of celebrities, world famous intellectuals, champions and a selection of unusual strange world figures, representative of Saint-Petersburg Museum Muhammad Natig Anvar Oglu told the Persian service of IRNA on Sunday.Leonardo da Vinci, Charles Chaplin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, David Beckham, and Oliver Kahn are some of the wax persons on display, he added.
The same collection went on show in Tehran seven years ago at the Niavaran Cultural Center, he said, adding that some new figures have also been added to the current exhibit.
Tehran’s show will continue until May 24. The figures will remain in Iran for two years and then travel across the country to go on show in different provinces.
The figures were displayed in London’s Madame Tussauds, a founder of the wax museum from earlier times. The museum contains models of famous people, both living and dead, made of wax.
